This vibrant, colourful event which has been celebrated in this city since 2009 is the biggest and brightest of all the Hindu festivals, and provides the perfect opportunity to showcase the splendor of Indian culture. This show-stopping festival of lights offers a tantalizing array of delectable cuisine, exquisite fabrics and clothing imported directly from India, relaxing Indian Head Massages, an Art of Living workshop and a journey into the future at the Esoteric Fair.
As part of the Diwali Festival, a series of Flash Mobs focussing on Bollywood type dance moves are being planned around malls in the Western Cape. A flash mob is an unexpected gathering of people who assemble in a predetermined location, perform an action, and then disperse. Participants network through email, bulletin boards, and websites, and generally assemble silently and without comment before vanishing equally mysterious.
As part of the of the Flash Mob iniative, a series of Bollywood dances are being staged at the following malls Vangate Mall on the 14th October 2012, Blue Route Mall on the 20th October 2012 , and Cavendish Square on the 20th October 2012.
